I contacted Lavender Barrier to tutor my son when he was falling behind in math. His teacher told me he was in danger of failing for the year if he could not get his math grades up before the EOGS.
I tried helping my son at home, but I didn’t have the patience that Lavender had. She worked long hours with him and used positive reinforcement that he needed. She was flexible with her hours and even sent home materials to help him with his homework in math. She kept in close contact with his teacher to make sure everyone was on the same page.
My son passed his math EOG’s and went onto the next grade because of Lavender’s dedication to helping him succeed!

I wanted to give my daughter a head start before going into kindergarten so she would be prepared. I contacted Lavender to tutor her over the summer. She was friendly and took the time to get to know my daughter and her interests. She is easy to work with and shows up on time. My daughter enjoys her tutoring sessions each week. My husband and I noticed a difference after the first week, when our daughter started reading words around the house and spelling them correctly! Each week she has a new set of words and skills she has learned that she is excited to share with us. Lavender is always positive with my daughter and makes learning fun. We are happy we used her to tutor our daughter!

My daughter was behind in reading, writing, and math due to an illness. Her teachers wanted to hold her back, but I felt she could catch up and pass the end of grade tests if she had a good tutor. I contacted Mrs. Barrier because she taught my older daughter and both of my children had a wonderful rapport with her.
She immediately took on the challenge and built up my daughters self esteem while working with her. I saw a difference in how she felt about school and she wanted to please Mrs. Barrier.
I was impressed with Mrs. Barrier’s teaching style and her warm demeanor. She set goals for my daughter, and if she reached them she earned certificates. My daughter saved all of them and was proud of her hard work. Her teachers saw an improvement within the first couple of weeks and her reading levels increased. She ended up passing the reading and math portion on the end of grade tests and will be going into the 4th grade next year! We were blown away and I have to thank Mrs. Barrier for making this happen!

My son was having problems with his writing. He was not organized with his thoughts and needed help adding details to his stories. I found Lavender’s website and decided to hire her to tutor my son. She taught my son how to organize his thoughts on paper and use different graphic organizers. Each week she worked with him on a new skill in writing. His writing improved and he ended up writing some great stories. Lavender gave him the writing skills he needed to feel successful and enjoy writing again. Thanks Lavender!!!
